GOLF COURSE & GOLF SHOP Rules & Guidelines Registration for Play All members and guests are required to register with the Starter (May-Oct) or in the Golf Shop before playing the course. Tee Times Required for all play and can be booked via the Club Website, Member App, or by calling the Golf Starter. Tournaments and scheduled groups have priority. Vertical guests and other guests are unable to book a tee time Weekly WGA and Golf Shop administered games take precedence. Sign up in advance with the Starter. If a member of the Golf Staff asks you to move to a different hole to speed play, please do so without hesitation. Your proper place on the golf course is behind the group in front of you, not in front of the group behind you. Always allow faster players to play through. Gate System Enter/exit fairways at marked posts. Keep carts in fairways except for entering/exiting. Return to the exit post if you drive beyond it. Dress Code Proper golf attire is mandatory on the course and at the practice facilities. Collared shirts (tucked in for men), golf dresses, slacks, Bermuda shorts, and spike-less golf shoes are acceptable. Prohibited items include denim, t-shirts, workout attire, and short shorts. All hats must be worn forward facing. Acceptable spike-less shoes must be worn at all times. This dress code is mandatory for all players at all times. If you are in doubt concerning your attire, please check with the Golf Shop. Thank you for your understanding and compliance. Golf Etiquette Follow proper decorum. Proper etiquette begins with being dressed appropriately, arriving for your tee time in advance, knowing the rules of golf, and taking care of the course as you play it. The list below outlines the basic etiquette that should be adhered to while playing golf at the Club: Be ready to hit when it is your turn to play. Search for lost balls within the allotted time. Only play one ball and keep pace by limiting practice swings. Don’t hit into a group in front of you. Leave greens promptly and record scores at the next tee. Repair any ball marks, replace divots and/or replace them with sand mix. Know basic golf cart etiquette and follow all daily cart path rules and entry/exit points. Know when and how to mark your ball on the green while not stepping in other’s putting lines. Know the order of play based on distance to the hole. If you are out of a hole, it is okay to pick up and record a maximum score based on your handicap. Be aware of your surroundings relating to the use of cell phones and music from portable speakers. Non-Golf Activities on the Course Walking, jogging, or fishing is allowed around the course before 8:30 a.m. or after 7:00 p.m., except during special events or weather delays. Stay on cart paths when possible and steer clear of all maintenance equipment. You assume all risks while accessing the course including injury from golf maintenance apparatuses.

Golf Guest Policy: Sponsoring Members are responsible for guest fees. Vertical guests may entertain guests at the Accompanied Guest rate. Tee times for unaccompanied guests must be made by the sponsoring Member with the Golf Starter or Head Golf Pro. Accompanied rounds require the sponsoring Member to be present on the course or driving range at all times; otherwise, unaccompanied charges apply. Groups of 8+ guests require Head Golf Professional approval. Accompanied guest are limited to 6 rounds annually. Restrooms & Hydration: Restrooms and ice/water stations are located at the Practice Range (Croquet Pavilion), Fairway Café, #7 tee, and #13 fairway. Closures: The Golf Professional, Golf Committee or Golf Course Superintendent have the authority to close the range, or course, or a particular hole at any time for an event, or to protect the safety of our Members or the condition of the course. Walking & Pull Carts: Walking golfers must get prior approval from the Golf Shop and allow faster cart players to pass without delay. Practice Range (Open May through October): Complimentary range balls and tees are provided. The Golf Staff and agronomy team will determine when the driving range will be "hitting off mats only", which currently include Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and all summer holidays. Please check with the Golf Shop to inquire about the practice range hours of operation; but as a general rule, the range is open May through September (October is on a reduced schedule based on sunlight) on the following schedule barring special events or inclement weather:
Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Range balls are not to be removed from the range area and are not to be used on the golf course. Violation of this policy could involve a fine or suspension of Club privileges. There is two-way cart traffic on the path between the Golf Shop and the Practice Range, and from the Golf Shop to the Fairway Cafe. Please be aware and drive safely on these paths. Practicing on the Golf Course is prohibited.

Handicaps: Members can access USGA handicap services for an annual fee that will be billed to their Club accounts. Your eight best of twenty eighteen-hole scores are the best representation of your WHS handicap. It is the responsibility of the Member to post his/her own scores, although oftentimes the Golf Professional staff will enter scores after tournaments and events. Scores being posted must be adjusted by using the Equitable Stroke Control format of Net Double Bogey. Questions related to Equitable Stroke Control should be directed to the Professional Staff. Scores can be posted at the posting machine outside the Golf Shop, via the GHIN handicap app, or by turning scorecards into the Professional Staff. The Club does have a Handicap Committee that will review anomalies or players flagged by Cap Patrol. Handicap Flags: Issued by the Head Golf Professional on a daily basis and subject to course/weather conditions. Carts must follow gate systems, remain at least 10 feet from tees/greens, and stay out of restricted areas. All handicap flag requests must be approved by the Golf Shop prior to play. Lightning Prediction System “Thor-Guard”: The Club is equipped with a lightning prediction system. If you hear a 10-second horn blast, a potential lightning strike may be imminent and players should seek shelter immediately. Do not rely solely on the horns and if dangerous weather looks imminent, please seek safe shelter immediately. If you hear three consecutive 5-second blasts, the conditions have improved and, if you feel safe, continue your outdoor activities. Hole In One Club: The “Hole in One Club” is a club within a club, and is governed with its own set of rules that are available in the Club Office or the Golf Shop. Members must sign a “Hole in One” Club contract to join in advance. GOLF CARTS Liability: Golf cart use at the Club is at the operator's and their passenger’s own risk. Operators assume all liability for any damage or injury and must indemnify the Club and associated parties. All cart operators shall indemnify and hold harmless the Club, its affiliates, partners, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents from any and all loss, cost, claim, injury, damage or liability sustained. This release and indemnification pertain to all matters arising out of the use of the golf cart including but not limited to physical injury, or any other injury including economic injury, slips or falls.
5
Club-Owned Golf Carts: Operation of a golf cart is at the sole risk of the operator. Only Members/guests registered with the Golf Shop may use Club carts. Drivers must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver’s license. Carts must remain on the course; no use in residential villages unless Member-owned. Limit of two adults and two golf bags per cart. Obey traffic signs, stop at road crossings, and use paths where provided (mandatory on par 3 holes). Members are responsible for repair costs for damage caused by their negligence, or their guests. Cost of repair to a club-owned golf cart will be charged to the Member's Club account. Private, Member-Owned Golf Carts: Personal Golf Carts: Before purchasing your cart, specifications of your new cart should be submitted for approval through the Club Office. Every year the Club leases new carts, which are offered for sale at the close of the season. Contact the Golf Shop for details. Design & Color: Carts must follow standard design and be natural colors (e.g., white, off-white, silver). Accessories require Club approval. Equipment: Carts must have sand buckets for divot repair. Registration: All carts must be registered with the Club Office and display a blue decal. Owners must sign a liability release. Responsibility: Owners are liable for any damage caused by their carts. Privileges: Only Members residing in the Cullasaja Club community may have private carts, which must be housed at their residence. Usage: Private carts can only be used by the Member, their spouse, or immediate family with a valid driver’s license. Club Carts: Should the owner of a private cart need the use of one of the Club’s carts for any reason, the Member is required to pay the customary cart fees. Annual Trail Fee for Private Carts Annual Trail Fee: Private cart owners must pay the annual Trail Fee, as determined by the Club, for golf course use. Program Participation: Members and one designated user with cart privileges are covered by the Trail Fee. Other riders are subject to the prevailing cart fee per round. Guest Use: Guests may use the Member’s cart only when accompanied by the Member and must pay the prevailing cart fee. Opt-In/Out Deadlines: Private cart owners must opt in or out of the Trail Fee Program by May 1. Late enrollment does not include refunds for prior cart rental fees. MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
FORMAT/TEES/HANDICAP Players will compete in singles matches against their opponent. Each match will be 18 holes. Participants will receive 100% of their USGA handicap stroked off the low player in the match. Players will compete from the tee they most commonly play from per the tournament guidelines in the Golf Operations guidebook.
Joe Dunning 2024 Champion
Round of 32: June 1st – June 30th Sweet Sixteen: July 1st – July 31st Elite Eight: August 1st – August 31st Final Four: September 1st – September 30th Championship: October 1st - October 15th
SCHEDULING MATCHES & DEADLINES Players are responsible for scheduling their own matches. Once a date and time have been agreed upon, please notify the Starter and we will print you an official match scorecard. Upon completion of the match please turn the scorecard, with match results and signatures from both players to the Starter. Any matches tied after 18 holes will go into extra holes starting on hole #1 and playing until a hole is won. If a match is not played by the end of the deadline day, the Golf Shop will flip a coin to determine the winner, who will then advance to the next round. In those instances when scheduling becomes problematic, one or both players may request the Golf Shop to intervene. In this circumstance, if the Golf Shop is unable to schedule the match within the deadline, the Golf Shop will then have the discretion to determine the winner by either coin flip or, in expected rare circumstances, default by one of the players. Open to the first 32 players (men and women) to sign up. If we don’t reach 32, the bracket will be made of 16 and the match start dates and deadlines will move up. Defending Champion will be seed 1, the remaining seedings will be determined by player’s Handicap Index.

TEAMS: Two person teams. Teams can be men, men & women or women. FORMAT: Alternate Shot. Players determine who will tee off from the odd/even holes. HANDICAPS: Handicaps will be given at 50% of the team total, off the low team in the Shoot-Out. Strokes will be given where they fall on the card. Strokes will be adjusted as the low team is eliminated. ENTRY FEE: $20 cash per player. ELIMINATION: Low net scores will advance to the next hole. The highest net scores will be eliminated each hole until two teams remain going to the 9th and final hole. TIES: Ties will be broken by a chip-off. Both team members chip. All players must turn around. If a tie occurs on the 9th hole, the hole will be played again. The player who did not tee-off on the 9th will hit the tee shot when the hole is played again.
