2025Golf Guidebook
Handicaps: Members can access USGA handicap services for an annual fee that will be billed to their Club accounts. Your eight best of twenty eighteen-hole scores are the best representation of your WHS handicap. It is the responsibility of the Member to post his/her own scores, although oftentimes the Golf Professional staff will enter scores after tournaments and events. Scores being posted must be adjusted by using the Equitable Stroke Control format of Net Double Bogey. Questions related to Equitable Stroke Control should be directed to the Professional Staff. Scores can be posted at the posting machine outside the Golf Shop, via the GHIN handicap app, or by turning scorecards into the Professional Staff. The Club does have a Handicap Committee that will review anomalies or players flagged by Cap Patrol. Handicap Flags: Issued by the Head Golf Professional on a daily basis and subject to course/weather conditions. Carts must follow gate systems, remain at least 10 feet from tees/greens, and stay out of restricted areas. All handicap flag requests must be approved by the Golf Shop prior to play. Lightning Prediction System “Thor-Guard”: The Club is equipped with a lightning prediction system. If you hear a 10-second horn blast, a potential lightning strike may be imminent and players should seek shelter immediately. Do not rely solely on the horns and if dangerous weather looks imminent, please seek safe shelter immediately. If you hear three consecutive 5-second blasts, the conditions have improved and, if you feel safe, continue your outdoor activities. Hole In One Club: The “Hole in One Club” is a club within a club, and is governed with its own set of rules that are available in the Club Office or the Golf Shop. Members must sign a “Hole in One” Club contract to join in advance. GOLF CARTS Liability: Golf cart use at the Club is at the operator's and their passenger’s own risk. Operators assume all liability for any damage or injury and must indemnify the Club and associated parties. All cart operators shall indemnify and hold harmless the Club, its affiliates, partners, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents from any and all loss, cost, claim, injury, damage or liability sustained. This release and indemnification pertain to all matters arising out of the use of the golf cart including but not limited to physical injury, or any other injury including economic injury, slips or falls.
