2025 Club Survey Review
Cullasaja Club 2025 Member Satisfaction Survey

The tennis committee members getting heavily involved in tournament planning and execution have significantly improved the events. Before, they were not good at all. Why were inexpensive score keeping signs such a big deal to acquire and install? Its stuff like this that drives you nuts with the club. The tennis clothes selection went way down hill this year. Everyone kept saying they were ordered and hadn't arrived yet but that seemed to never happen. If you are waiting until bad clothes in XXL from the ancient past sells before getting new inventory, you aren't going to sell much. We would normally buy quite a bit from the tennis shop. This year we spent $1,000+ for tennis clothes in town that we would have spent here if inventory was available. Hopefully after the wall at the croquet court is rebuilt, the lower lawn will be leveled out. There are two many breaks in that lawn. Condition of the grass was fine. While the fencing is attractive, as we sadly found out this year, it is not sturdy. I feel all fencing should be replaced with a safer and sturdier design. The new sign at the lower lawn is helpful, but.......... We must do something to promote croquet again as interest has severly declined. Many former players think even the Tuesday and Thursday more social events have become too competitive and average players are not welcome. This has always been a fun time that was a great opportunity to meet new members. We need to find "a hook" to rekindle the interest in the games. It is sad to see participation in these two fun croquet events drop from 40+ players to maybe 8. Brian has grown a lot and has become much more personable and involved in helping our players. Terry always brought people together and still does. Brian needs to work on developing more of that skill. It may be that initially he was not told that was part of the job. I think we are fortunate to have someone of his playing capability and I like him a lot, but he just needs to improve in developing friendly games and bringing people to the lawns! I wish there were more beginners to play with and events that allowed lower skill people to play. I am not good enough to play in any of the current offerings. Heather Bell is a great teacher, very knowledgeable and super friendly. My son likes her too. It would be considerate for the year round club members to leave the croquet lawns in nicer condition and useable for the longest time possible when the club is closed and only put sand on it for the absolutely necessary time period. Having Brian Lozano has increased my interest in Croquet. Having a real pro and following his world events is exciting. He is a great instructor and works hard to keep the program interesting for the group. And Terry is so encouraging that I do now know how I would do on the court without him. Great team for Croquet. Brian isn’t engaging or caring like Terry. He caters to the top players and doesn’t care about the rest of the people. Unfortunately, I didn't play much croquet this year but I still don't feel that Brian has his heart in the program. I believe they are working on different levels of tournament play so other levels of players can compete and have a chance to win at "their level". That should be pursued. Unfortunately Brian isn’t welcoming to social croquet players. He wastes players time while he fiddles with”who is playing who”. He needs to do that while the players are playing, instead of enjoying the CCA’s refreshments and on his mobile. Chris Harris does a great job with court maintenance and filling in as needed. However, his ethics are most unprofessional & he severely lacks etiquette in the tennis committee meetings, has no regard for confidentiality and doesn’t treat all tennis playing members equally. Chris fails to follow protocol in the Cullasaja Member Handbook with regards to guests fees and sign ins. If he remains, would be nice if management would take the time to educate him. Brian seems frustrated with the fact that many members are new to croquet and are more interested in the social aspect and learning a new skill than competition. Terry would mix new players with more seasoned players to help teach and encourage new players to want to participate more. This doesn't happen any longer and I'm afraid you will see participation reflect dont play much tennis but the few times I did I thought the courts were good Chris did much better this season. Seeing growing participation has been good to see too I would love to see more fun events/music, clinics etc Did not use. none
