2025 Club Survey Review

Cullasaja Club 2025 Member Satisfaction Survey

this. Brian seems to be more of a pre-madonna and looks down on members that are not impressed with him or strive to meet his expectations. Not sure he even knows most of the croquet members by name or face. Disappointing. Croquet should start May 1 - the club opens and play should start- Food and beverage is not needed right away. Tournaments can take women play days - this is not really fair

It has been a bad year for croquet. Large drop in participation in all weekly and special events. This was once a very successful program that had very large attendance numbers. Not sure exactly what went wrong, but it definitely needs to be addressed. This was once a great way for new members to easily meet many people and get involved.

croquet is a new sport for me, and I was made to feel welcome and appreciated. It was a great experience Not in favor of having members' children compete in member/adult tournaments. If there is interest create a junior tournament/championship.

I started croquet to meet other members and it was wonderful. Mallets and martinis used to be so fun and gave me the opportunity to improve my game as I had to play all levels of talent from a beginner like me to playing against Sandy and “Hit it Like a Howard” Dennis. It was intimidating but we became friends with them and it improved my game. Since Brian started all the better players are segregated at all events and mallets and martinis to the upper lawns and not allowed to play with beginners. I think that stinks and I think it has led to the demise of the program. We used to have packed events (mallets and martinis had 2 sessions every Tuesday and Thursday) Now they are lackluster and divisive. Something has to be done to bring community and togetherness back to croquet. Brian has matured into his job pretty well. Croquet events have gotten stale. Full court condition has deteriorated quite a bit. Glad you are re-doing it. Brian does the bare minimum and is hard to find in the afternoons. He doesn’t seem happy or excited to be here. Croquet participation seemed low this year. Some need to chill out and enjoy playing with everyone. Concerned about Brian’s desire and personality to grow the participation. Brian is a great guy, very likable, but absent way too much, on his trips to tournaments, which sometimes, it feels. Are more important to him than his job. This is only a six month club and it does not seem to fit his schedule. And while he is there his attention is too limited also. He then is too much an actual player croquet pro, sometimes more interested in playing with his buddies than serving the community. He should have some free clinics, especially for beginners. Go around while people are playing, giving some instruction and making it more interesting for all. Chris needs some help with communication. Often it is late, and we do not seem to have any budget to do events. Brian does a good job when he is here. In my opinion he is gone to tournaments too often. I am sure that is the deal he has. We should have a pro who is here the whole summer.

I have not played much croquet this year. As I have watched the tournaments I have observed Brian on his phone often or practicing while a tournament is going on.
