I would like to start these comments by saying that I am very sorry that I have to rate the golf course so poorly. It pains me to do this but constructive criticism is the only way to improve. In the time that we have been members our course has always been extremely well maintained. Something definitely changed this year. I am not sure what it was, but my guess is incorrect chemical application or timing of the applications. The problems cannot be blamed on any weather related factors this year. All of the surrounding golf courses ( including both adjacent courses) were in excellent condition when ours was obviously struggling. For at least the first 2 1/2 months of our season we had minimal grass on several of the greens and fairways. It is totally inexcusable that our course is not in pristine condition from day one of our opening in May. We are only open six months so to lose 1/3 of our season with mediocre conditions is unacceptable. I will say the course condition has improved some, but never reached the quality that I have grown accustomed to the last few years. It is also very frustrating to see areas of the fairways that still don’t drain properly and requires staking off. This is after a multimillion dollar restoration over the last couple of years. I hope these areas will be addressed during our offseason. A few other observations that I made this season: - crabgrass that invaded some of the tee areas were “sprayed” instead of removed. This caused collateral damage to healthy turf. -the tees on the par 3’s, with number 14 being the exception, have minimal turf not torn up by divots. Not sure what the solution is but we need to work on one -disheartening to see the amount of ball marks and divots that go un repaired on our course. This is not the staffs fault, this is due to member and guests. When there are large turf “pelts” lying in the fairway instead of being replaced is just laziness. My dad taught me to always repair your mark and somebody else’s. I take it to another extreme here and repair mine and at least 5 others (or as many as time allows) Wish list: -cross cut mowing of the fairways like in the past. Amazing how much better it makes the course look. (Just look at some old photos) -tee markers with the Cullasaja logo on them Again, I apologize for the lengthy response and the poor comments. I do not want to be the person that only gives negative feedback and offers nothing. I would love to help in any way that I am allowed. I would love to be considered for the golf or greens committee at some point in the future. Chris, I am happy to discuss any of this with you if needed. Thanks for your understanding.

Was disappointed in the condition of greens and fairways early in the season without receiving much communication. Kept hearing about excessive rain and potential fungus but other clubs in the are seemed to be in much better condition early on.

I think this has been a very hard summer with all of the rains that we’ve had for the golf course as far as the greens and the Fairway. I think they’ve done a great job with what they had to work with. I like the short game area, but the chipping area is very difficult since there’s so much variation on the surface. I feel it would’ve been better if it had pretty much been fairly level so we can give us a good idea on how to practice the shot instead of have to worry about is it gonna go four or five feet left or right. Maybe if one side of it had variation the other side was more level that would be great. I am not your great golfer maybe for the better golfers they’re very happy with it. I don’t know. The new short game area is amazing! Also I would LOVE if we could add sand trap rollers instead of rakes - they are SO much easier to use and perhaps adding 1 to each sand trap is possible? Driving range targets need to have more mid range measurements. Viewing from hitting areas to several targets is somewhat limited. Not a fan of using personal phone to find distances.
