2025 Club Survey Review

Cullasaja Club 2025 Member Satisfaction Survey

seeding weeds all over the course. Too many trees have been removed over the last few years causing remaining trees to die. Areas have been cleared of trees and rhododendrons and nothing was done to improve the look - which isn't good. What was done in the name of "air flow" got excessive and unnecessary. How did we spend millions of dollars on the course recently and we still have perpetually standing small ponds on fairways like #2 and #5 that have killed the areas and have to be continually roped off? And the new driving range was poorly designed and apparently poorly constructed. Drainage is not good and has already killed the new grass in the valleys. The chimney design makes the drainage worse and makes it difficult for the guys to pick up balls. We often see them have to do it manually. And all of that is not from excessive rain. Those of us who have been around a long time know that this year's rain was much more typical of Highlands weather. It was not unusual and often years are even wetter. And this is the first year to our knowledge that the range had to be closed for rain. The new range looked pretty at the beginning of season, but it was a big miss overall. And those poles holding the netting at the end of the range should have definitely been made of steel being as tall as they are. They are already leaning and warping. Finally, golf courses are not completely about tee, fairway and green grass. Its all the areas around the course as well and nothing is done to make the entire course actually look attractive. It looked better years ago.

Tom does a great job but was hampered by the unusual fungus and the weather this year. As a result, our course was not in the pristine condition it usually is. I know Tom did everything he could and was as concerned about the condition as we were.

Greens, Fairways & Tees were all very thin most of the season. (Possibly due to weather which is understandable) Would love to hit off grass on the range more. On the mats too much. Our rough has become a mix of grass varieties. Would love to see all our rough replaced with pure Kentucky Blue like the areas that have been done in renovations last few years Add combo tees. Have them rated & on score cards. Tough year for conditioning because of all the projects the previous winter season and all the rain throughout the year. Numerous areas, especially around tees and edges of fairways were more drainage could be added. Considering all the rain, course in pretty good shape. Thanks to Tom Nelson New Ladies tees (#VI) could be improved. Tough year on the course. too wet and maybe too much play

We need a short video or pamphlet to tell us how to repair divots and ball marks - lots of inconsistency During at least the first half of the season, the course did not look healthy. I'm not sure what changed from prior years. I'd like for members/guests to be educated on ball mark repairs on the greens. There seem to be an abundance of them. We repair as many as we can (if not too late) when we play. Please take stickers off apples, the trash bins look terrible with these all over them. Consider logo on water bottles for club and course.

Need more communication from short practice area to be on the tee. A big tasteful clock would really help.
