TOURNAMENT POLICIES
Local Rules and Conditions of the Competition: Competitions are governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and its decisions, and where applicable, by the local rules distributed prior to tournament play. These rules shall be enforced by “The Committee” comprised of the Golf Professional Staff. Pace of Play: All rounds shall be played in four (4) hours and ten (10) minutes. Any group not playing at an acceptable pace with a starting interval open in front of them will be considered out of position. Penalties will be issued to competitors who contribute to undue delay. Groups out of position will be advised, timed, and may be penalized. A penalty may require the group to skip a hole and record net double bogey for their score. Tournament Registration: Members in good standing are permitted to register for all Golf events. Event registration will open four (4) weeks prior to the event date and will close approximately two (2)days prior to the event playing. Tournament registration flyers will be delivered via email and will also be available in the Golf Shop. *Note: Canceling your participation in a Club tournament after the entries close will result in paying the tournament entry fee. Thus, please make sure you and your partner are committed to playing! Tournament Handicaps: Competitors in all competitions must carry a current USGA handicap. All USGA handicaps will be subject to adjustment by The Handicap Committee. Tournament handicaps will be frozen prior to the event. The maximum handicap allotment for Men in all events shall be thirty-six (36) and forty (40) for Ladies. *Each Member is responsible for posting scores and managing their handicap index accurately and honestly. Ties: Ties in tournaments will be decided by a match of cards, unless otherwise stipulated in the Conditionsof the Competition. The champions (or winner’s) will be determined by the USGA recommended match of cards – scoring of the last nine holes, last six holes, and if needed the last three holes. All match play events will be decided by sudden death playoff beginning on hole #1 or hole #10, unless changed by the Golf Professional. Suspension of Play (Thor-Guard): If the lightning prediction alarm sounds with one long continuous signal, all players must immediately take shelter. Players may not resume play until the all-clear alarm sounds with three short signals. * Penalty for breach of this rule could lead to disqualification. Tees: Tees for every event will be determined by players’ posted scores. Players are not allowed to play from tees they do not normally play from, or record scores from throughout the season. Tournament Entry Deadlines: Tournament entries must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on the day entries close. Distance Measuring Devices: These devices are permitted in all competitions for measuring distance only.
